WOLF WARRIOR 2

"Anyone attacking China will be hit, no matter where it is": Movie poster.

"Finally, there is a protagonist in whom we can identify ourselves," says Gao Cheng, 28, who was born in Beijing. "In the past it was rare to see in films produced in China a single man who wants to save the world and restore peace".

"Fearless, but responsible heroism", says The People's Daily.

"The image of a strong China with great influence on the world emerges from Wolf Warrior 2. In the film there are some Western mercenaries convinced that the Chinese armed forces are weak. It's nice to see that they are defeated in the end, "says 32-year-old Jia Fangzi, who works in the human resources sector. "That's why the Chinese love President Xi Jinping so much," a young Chinese theater worker whisper before delivering the 3D vision glasses.  Comments on the Chinese film, Wolf Warrior II

With no big message and nothing ethical or profound, Wolf Warrior 2 is the film that has broken the Chinese box office, extolling nationalism. It is akin to a copy of Rambo that has sold out and that many Western observers recommend seeing, only to understand some tendencies of Chinese public opinion. But any countervailing action will have the full support of the people and fortify the figure of Xi Jinping.

The film's message is clear and mimics the use of cinema in the US during the Cold War. China is big, but it must respect and defend its interests and those of its citizens all over the world. It can only do so thanks to a strong party-led army and a proud Chinese population of its nation. The hero, therefore, is a former elite soldier of the Chinese army who saves Chinese and African civilians prisoners of merciless rebels, aided by Western mercenaries in a declining African state. With a final call to the Chinese liberation army that intervenes bombarding the bad foreigners.

China's response to the commercial war initiated by US president Donald Trump is not long in coming. As a reprisal of the US steel and aluminum tariff hike, China has launched new tariffs on meat, fruit and other products imported from the United States. The Chinese Ministry of Finance has announced that the increases will start in the next few hours. The China Customs Commission is increasing by 25% the tariff rate of eight imported US products, including pork and aluminum scrap. It is also imposing a new tariff of 15% on 120 products imported from the USA, including wine and fruit. So far, we have reached 60 billion US dues to China against the miserable 6 of the Great Wall Country to the stars and stripes superpower. But, behind this intervention, we read a much more targeted action against the consent of President Trump.

The Chinese response could penalize American farmers and farmers, many of whom work in the regions that allowed the election of Trump in 2016. Farmers in China exported goods in China for nearly $ 20 billion in 2017, while the US pig has business for 1.1 billion dollars. So, the threat is clear: this is just a signal. The markets do not like commercial war. Wall Street Monday a day has come to lose up to 3%. And now Trump studies the countermove to defend intellectual property. Perhaps like in the movies, there is a lot of propaganda and little substance. Experts warn Trump by underlining in every way that the US trade balance is a larking mirror. According to the 2015 data, US companies sold 372 billion dollars in China, of which only 223 of that billion were exported from the United States, the remainder being American products created and sold directly in China.

One third of the total. On the other hand, Chinese products sold in America are almost all exported. The 370 billion US trade deficit with China would fall to around 30 billion. More than the risk of counter-duties American companies are exposed to retaliation on Chinese subsidiaries. In the country of the dragon there are 310 million active iPhones, more than double those in the US, General Motors has sold more cars in China than in the US, the same is true for Mcdonald's with hamburgers. Think of producing at home and make the goods too expensive and inaccessible for the Chinese customer. We believe that as always, the numbers will have the best. China is aware that its violations of intellectual property can- not go on forever and Trump is very intelligent to understand to what extent it is convenient to pull the rope without the risk of being dragged. From the two leaders there are two superpowers, any rope is a very thin thread. So thin that nobody wants to break up. The markets will wobble again, and the ropes are tense, and the reactions are more acute. But, as Confucius said, "Do not use a bow and arrow to kill a mosquito". The war would be much more expensive than any agreement.
